ScoopWhoop was founded in August 2013 by Sattvik Mishra, Sriparna Tikekar, Rishi Pratim Mukherjee, Debarshi Banerjee, Saransh Singh and Suparn Pandey. All of the founders are alumni of Indian Institute of Mass Communication.
In March 2015, apart from the 21 million unique views, the site also garnered 45 million page views and has been consistently getting over three million social shares monthly across articles.
Funding And Partnership:
The company received a funding of Rs. 10 Crore (₹100,000,000) from Bharti Softbank in November 2014 for a stake of 36.5% which valued the company at Rs. 40 crores. Subsequently, the company again raised 4 million US dollars in 2016 from Kalaari Capital to expand its editorial and video division.
